Located in Cedar Falls, IA, First Iowa Orff is a chapter of the American Orff Schulwerk Association. We are a group of primarily classroom music teachers who meet three or four times a year for workshops with guest presenters from around the country. AOSA and FIO are based on the educational philosophy, process, and music of Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman.

Dear Members,
I hope you are having a great start to your new school year! We are kicking off the 2009-2010 school year with an August workshop, *this Saturday.* J The workshop will run from 9-3, our regular time, at UNI in the Bluedorn-Gallagher Performing Arts Center. Our presenter will be Kris Versteegt, who will focus on teaching music fundamentals—great for this time of year!
We will have our regular potluck, so please e-mail Emily at emilyrosebarnes@gmail.com, and tell her what you would like to bring. (We will provide meat & cheese for sandwiches; please bring a side, desert or drinks.)
If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at sarah-bobenhouse@uiowa.edu or Emily.
Thank you and see your Saturday!

President, First Iowa Orff
This is a test message; I am experimenting with the First Iowa Orff distribution list sent to me by Tim Purdum. If you would like to be removed from this list, please reply. Likewise, if you would like me to change your address (from work to personal, or vice versa), please let me know. If everything looks good, you don't need to do anything. :o)
Look for a couple of FIO-related forwards to follow!
Thanks,
Emily Goulson
