First Iowa Orff

Located in Cedar Falls, IA, First Iowa Orff is a chapter of the American Orff Schulwerk Association. We are a group of primarily classroom music teachers who meet three or four times a year for workshops with guest presenters from around the country. AOSA and FIO are based on the educational philosophy, process, and music of Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman.

Fwd: 1st Iowa Orff Workshop this Saturday!

Dear Members,

I hope you are having a great start to your new school year!  We are kicking off the 2009-2010 school year with an August workshop, *this Saturday.* J  The workshop will run from 9-3, our regular time, at UNI in the Bluedorn-Gallagher Performing Arts Center.  Our presenter will be Kris Versteegt, who will focus on teaching music fundamentals—great for this time of year!

We will have our regular potluck, so please e-mail Emily at emilyrosebarnes@gmail.com, and tell her what you would like to bring.  (We will provide meat & cheese for sandwiches; please bring a side, desert or drinks.)

If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at sarah-bobenhouse@uiowa.edu or Emily.

Thank you and see your Saturday!

FIO Newsletter

Hello, All!

I discovered that hotmail will only let me send mass messages twice a day to 100 people at a time, so I decided to set up a new gmail account to avoid that problem (our distro list is over 100 - whoo-hoo!).  Sorry for any confusion!  And no, my name hasn't changed yet, but it will in March.  :o)  Feel free to communicate with me via this account OR my other one (egoulson@msn.com).

Please find attached the latest installment of the FIO Newsletter.  Also, please note that our first meeting this year will be Saturday, 29 August.  It's coming right up!

Thanks!

First Iowa Orff - AOSA Milwaukee

Hello First Iowa Orff members and friends. Please take a moment to fill out the following form if you are planning to attend the AOSA National Conference in Milwaukee, November 11-14. I will compile the results and try to get people in touch with each other for carpooling and housing by the August 29 workshop.

Thank you,

-Tim Purdum

Testing, Testing!

This is a test message; I am experimenting with the First Iowa Orff distribution list sent to me by Tim Purdum.  If you would like to be removed from this list, please reply.  Likewise, if you would like me to change your address (from work to personal, or vice versa), please let me know.  If everything looks good, you don't need to do anything.  :o)

Look for a couple of FIO-related forwards to follow!

Thanks,

Emily Goulson
